Mal: Once again, you miss the point of the Rasmussen report. They deal in trends and in conclusions that can be drawn from those trends. And in meaningful abnormalities reletive to those trends. Here is the actual Rasmussen report in question: http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/mood_of_america/partisan_trends
If you bother to actually read this (and read it in it's entirety) you will see that the "news" and point of the report, based on this poll, was the fact that those likely voters calling themselves "democrats" has fallen to a record low, and has done this for two months in a row now. You will also see that it is quite unbiased.
If you look at the data, you will see that Rasmussen shows that the trend has been downward for those claiming to be Democrats, and the trend for those claiming to be Republican has been either steady or slightly up. But they do show that the traditional "score" has been a slightly larger number of those claiming to be Democrat over Republican. That has been the "norm" and is not "news". Like I said the "news" (or meaningful abnormality) is that those claiming to be Democrat has decreased to a record low for two months in a row.
Now, you may not like this. And you likely would rather see the "old news" that the those claiming to be Democrat have been traditionally larger than those claiming to be Republican, but you just don't get your way all the time do you. Come November, the Independents, and fallen Democrats, will show you that you will not be getting your way much at all for some time to come! Crawl back under your rock.
