Actually, the Constitution doesn't apply to "citizens," nor does it apply to "people." It applies to the government. It tells the government what it can nd can't o (the body tells the government what it can do, and he Bill of Rights tells it what it can't do).
That's a simplistic view --- but wrong.
In the "body", Article I, Section 9 there are seven things listed that the government shall not do.   Section 10 lists three more the states shall not do.

American citizens are protected from the government by the Constitution. Not illegal aliens!

As I tried to make this clear earlier, the Bill of Rights is not limited to citizens.   It applies to everybody, all persons, all people.

You really believe the government can deprive a non-citizen of "life, liberty or property without due process of law" for example?

Would that mean that the police can shoot them at will?

Incidentally we weren't talking about illegal aliens.  We are talking about a citizen of another country who was captured and brought here against his will.

Or did I completely misunderstand your comment.   Were you trying to say that American people are protected from the government by the Constitution, and not by illegal aliens.

Wow.  You either really missed a huge point, or are unable to process it.

The Constitution was meant to be simple....it's liberal whackos that keep reading their agenda into it. They need to quit adding things into the literal meaning of what was written. And they need to quit legilating from the bench. Mallcontent is posting what she says it says. However, where does it say "It applies to everybody, all persons, all people"?

It says "the people" multiple times.   It doesn't say some of the people or a few of the people.   It doesn't say the people you feel like applying it to.  It doesn't say only citizens.   What do think "the  people" means?   On what basis can you divide them?

You're the one putting stuff in that isn't there.
