  don't understand the word freedom or all men are created equal. how can we be free while oppressing someone else's freedom. first off marriage should be in the church not the state. understand freedom means excepting others freedoms too even if you don't agree with them. six yrs ago woman wanted to work and they had to fight for their freedom, then it was the blacks and now the gays. don't anyone know what freedom means, it's not just freedom for only you or like minded people! all you reasons for oppressing the gays are ridiculous, there have been gays through out history all the way back to roman days. even native americans have gays in their society. so you don't like so what!!!


Marriage should be in the church? mobay...You just insulted davie and Mal's cause!

Zowie....innocents? Strickly? Danager?  Hang on, I need to grab my super secret TP decoder ring.

 

I am pleased to see that we are in agreement on so much.  It would appear that you also feel that it is perfectly okay for us to judge and legislate based on morals, as evidenced in our age of consent laws.  It's also all right to protect society from public health and safety issues as in our drunk driving laws.  And we just plain say "no" to weird and icky things such as beastiality.  It's perfectly logical then to draw the conclusion that laws governing the gay lifestyle are not only appropriate, but needed.  Public health and safety (the AIDS epidemic among gay men) and the reaction to all things weird and icky are no-brainers, so I suppose it all comes down to being back at square one.  You think it's okay, and I don't.  Fair enough.  The recent backlash of Iowa voters to the three judges and the rejection of liberalism nationwide is just the beginning of what will happen in the next few years.

ISociety will be harmed by it, It detroys the family unit (mother, father and children)

 

Although it won't create a family of a mother father and children, it won't destroy one either.   If two people of the same sex marry in Iowa, it won't effect my family relationships one bit.   Even if they live next door.

 

I already know by your post that you don't agree with this point of view, so let me ask you a question. If marriage is accepted between same sex couples because it is their civil right, because after all they were "born this way" Where do you draw the line? Do you draw it at the point of polygamy? Incestual relationships? How about pedophiles? I'm betting the later would say they were born like that and did not choose it.


It's not about your right to marry any creature you wish.    It's about the right of an adult person you wish to spend the rest of your life with being allowed to marry you and enjoy the benefits society bestows on married couples.

Why would you bring up pedophiles?   That's just a cheap, stupid scare tactic


Society does not bestow the benefits you liberals are using for your justification for your cause. The big bad capitalist companies do.

Opinionated - Believe me when I say I have no desire to call you a bigot. You are one of the few posters here that I actually think has common sense and the ability to discuss things in a respectful format. That said, your actions leave me little choice.

You're so much better then a racist joke. Then again, maybe I forget where I am....
