Tom, look at the calendar - December 25 is CHRISTMAS. So let's not drag politics into this and try to be all things to all people. For as long as most of can remember folks have greeted one another with a hearty "Merry Christmas".

I'm so very sorry if I offended you!  I stated the post the way I did, because I wanted to be "religiously" correct.  I'm so sure that not everyone on this board is a Christian.  One of the main reasons that I am no longer on this board very much, is due to this previous post!  I just can't believe, that no matter what a person does, that it pisses someone off!  And, FYI, I happen to be a Christian, and, am fully aware when Christmas is, AND, exactly WHAT Christmas means (or, I guess, what it's supposed to mean!).  May you ALL have a GREAT 2011!  (God, I hope that, that isn't taken for a political meaning!).

I, for one, appreciate your sentiments.   I'll give you wide latitude in how you say them.   It should be safe to say "Happy Holidays" by now but I won't and I'll just wish the same back to you.

When you post on December 25 - Christmas Day - it should be politically and religiously correct to say Merry Christmas. That was the reason for my post. The "holiday" that we were celebrating on that particular day was Christmas. So if on February 14 we must say happy holiday because the holiday is named for St Valentine - I say we are taking this whole "holiday" BS too far!

My point being that no one should be upset for the wish for a Merry Christmas on December 25 regardless of your religious and/or political leanings. All this wishy-washy shirting the issue is ridiculous. If a person cannot say Merry Christmas on December 25 then we aren't living in The United States of America.
