Tom...this whole story should be sent to Washington and every form of media as a real example of why the government needs to keep it's long, obtrusive nose out of health care.  Hope all goes well.

Nigel, I'm not so sure that it's the whole healthcare thing, but, it has increasingly become aware to me that the VA does the bare minimum for it's Vets, and, I kind of think that it goes a lot higher than this VA hospital.  I'm not service connected, so, they can say, see what we're doing for Tom, and, we don't even have to!  Just my thoughts, but then again, I'm frustrated!  1st time in my life where my diabetis is catching up with me!  It's a real awakening to find out that you're really not invincible!  I guess the invincible thing is just part of being in the baby boomer generation.  BB. we both know that, that was a 2 way street, I'm past that now, and, I do appreciate the caring.  Thankx again, all.  I'll keep you informed.  Tom.

I have heard lots of good things about the wound care center and 3rd opinions do not hurt when it is this serious.

The point I would like to offer you is to hang in there and do not let it get you down. I believe positive thinking will take you a long way because I am a example of that. Next week will be 6 years I have been in my battle.

When they serve you lemons, squeeze them in a glass, add water & sugar, you have lemonade. In other words reach down & dig a little deeper, it can not hurt and you would not believe how much it helps.

I know for a fact that the V.A. has limited sources so sometimes you have to bite the bullet and do what you have to do. I do find it ironic that the very people that voted against the health care bill have government health care for themselves.
