Kenn, that you, as always, for your words of wisdom! I don't have a clue as to why people keep voting the same people, (who are doing this to us), in??? My Dr. at the VA is supposed to be the "head" of the Podiatry Clinic, I believe, also works for the U of I, and he and his head nurse (male), (15 years in the Clinic), disagree on some of the basics of the treatment! The Dr.s & Nurses at the Wound Care Clinic, within Trinity Hospital, in Bettendorf, took blood pressures on both of my arms, AND, 2 different spots on BOTH of my legs. NEVER HAS HAPPENED AT THE VA! Also, Bettendorf took cultures of the wound, to determine IF the antiiotics were the correct ones to be using (since I've been on the same ones for about 2 months. Took MORE blood for testing than the VA has EVER done just to track my Diabetis, AND what is REALLY going on with the wound situation. Bettendorf is concerned to see if it has gotten into the bone. THAT being said, they are STILL not talking about ANY amputation. VA says, bone infection, something will be gone! Bettendorf says that the infection is GRAVE, but, they're not counting out alternate treatments to amputation! My problem is, that I've been off for 2 months already, and COULD run out of "short term" disability insurance before this is all said and done! I ALSO want to get this resolved, WITHOUT continuing to go between 2 different doctors/hospitals. I remember, back in the "old" days, where a doctor had a code of ethics that he was sworn to live by, and, proper treatment, NOT the almighty dollor, was the determining factor as to how he/she dealt with a patient! God, isn't it funny how much you learn, just by getting older?
