Oh Holy Night,

That's what I Like to hear once in a while, we all disagree at times and even better we agree sometimes too. That's the real trouble with being an objective individual. Seeing how low our leaders can go is like watching them play LIMBO with the constitution and we have a broken whistle. I cannot resist a good verbal/mental tussle now and then, so I say let's set em up and shoot em down. Keeping civility ALWAYS IMPORTANT. But never forget that you, me and mine, and many others suffer for our objectivity, because at times we seem to be drifting back and forth over the fence like some arrant butterflies. I understand that too, so all we can do is point to history(as it's written) and hope our detractors finally understand that WE DO NOT JUST TAKE A SIDE, TRUTH BE DAMNED. I give that trust to my choices unless they prove I voted wrong. I'll admit that as well. I'll apologize when it's my error AND "My fellow Poster", I'll forgive.

In all my 74 years, DOB-4/15/34, I have never felt as alive and viable, by being allowed to troddle from my dinette with wrap in hand, snuggle into this.......rubbery, high arch chair with my little hot-pad under my toes, sipping my warm tea between corrections  and read what all you wise, serious, sincere, and comically endowed folks are worried about. What hopes there must be, what music and foods ring your bells. What LIFE in general has to offer still. And, among all that, there are opinions that matter to each of us but seem to matter little to some at times. It's really wonderful if you stop and think about it. So with all do respect to you and others who I disagree with and disagree with me, I'm giddy. What a grey, somber, existence we'd all suffer otherwise. "I like pie" Oh yeah? I like pie too. Well heck-fire Pappy, I like pie as well. Jees Bambi, it looks like we all like pie!!! and you know, we don't have anything to talk about now, WE....ALL....LIKE....PIE. I'm happy to know that some  of you don't.

Well then to get to your point, as I seem to see it. Not a problem. This old country has a few surprises left in her I bet. And who knows, one day your objectivity might just be the one "They " listen to. Doesn't it feel great at times to let go of some steam and make a loud whistle? Don't you just know that what you have to say is what EVERYONE else should feel too? WE all do. So again, don't sweat it "sonny" Were only human, as long as we play though, lets play nice!

God Bless.

Or at least tell us what we are or are NOT supposed to have an opinion or discussion about.....

Sounds ilke you may be confusing "things Robert personally doesn't like" with "Neighborhood Link rules."

I think I've spelled out the rules pretty clearly in the "no personal attacks" post and that still holds.

My reply to Tom was to let him know that NL does still read the forums, but that while I personally don't think much of the political mudslinging, and I recognize it's probably not to the taste of many here, I don't think we (NL) are likely to try to jump in to quash all political debates.

(Yes, people always have the option of not replying to a topic.  As long as the "annoying" topics are few and far between that's fine; if a small but vocal minority are producing a lot of junk that nobody wants to see, they chase everybody else away.  Not something we (NL) want to see happen, so we need some way of letting you guys to regulate your own discussion area.)

With no disrespect intended, it sounds like just another way to dictate who does the name calling.
