"In the health care debate the selfish, even those with incomes of $400,000, are too selfish to contribute 1% of it to give us a health care system comparable to the rest of the industrialized world."

Why would you want a "system comparable to the rest of the industrialized world"?   When people from those countries come here to both study medicine and for medical treatment?   I don't see U.S. citizens tripping to Canada or Britain for treatment or education, do you??

This whole health care "crisis" is a scam created to provide one more excuse for a liberal power grab.   We have the best health care in the world right now.  All systems have faults, as does ours, but we still have the best.   We won't have the best if the fools in D.C, and like you, get their way.

I have not seen the whole plan so I can not make a true judgement on it.

I can tell you this and it is factual, my insurance company was billed over $ 100,000 last year for prescription drugs. My share was around $ 300.00 the total bill was greatly reduced due to their agreement with the pharmacy. Medicare did not pay one cent of this bill because it did not meet their criteria.

Anyone that thinks that they are going to get the same coverage as congress voted in for them selves is only kidding them self.

I did read a article by senator Grassley that stated the republicans had better get on board the insurance plan or come up with something else or they were in trouble in the next election.

The way I read this he thinks we need something other than what we have.

Grassley is dead wrong.  If they "get on board" this Titanic, they will be in a lot more trouble than they are now!   This thing is going to prove to be a horrendous boondogle.    It is not needed.  Polls show that the public does not place this anywhere near the top in priority of things the Fed needs to concentrate on.    Like I said, this is a scheme - like others - to grab  more power, and insure votes in  the future.   The crooks in power now believe that if they can get everyone on the "nanny system", everyone will certainly have to vote for the "nanny" in future elections.

Polls show that the public does not place this anywhere near the top in priority of things the Fed needs to concentrate on.

Sorry, hiroad, but the actual polls beg to differ.
