From Wednesday's (7/22) Rasmussen Report (the only legitimate political poll):
"Only 20% of U.S. voters now say health care reform is the most important of the four budget priorities President Obama laid out early in his presidency, down four points from the end of May." |

Mallory....hoping you'll feel free to take care of my 1%, as this seems to be something you truly believe in. |

You said: "Polls show that the public does not place this anywhere near the top in priority of things the Fed needs to concentrate on." However, as illustrated in the polls I linked to, it is clearly "near the top" of the public's priorities as it falls in the top five of nearly every poll and in the top two or three in the majority of those polls. In fact, according to the Rasmussen Report you cited (your link actually to the June 2 poll but I found the one you were referring to), health care ranked second in the list of priorities. The report even states: "Among all voters, health care has consistently come in second to deficit reduction as the president’s top priority since February..."
Now I don't know about you, hiroad, but second seems like it's "near the top" to me. |
