conservative vs. liberal

First and foremost, Obama DOES advocate single payer healthcare, aka socialized medicine, and has said so.  He even laments that private, employer provided healthcare can't be eliminated right away, that he envisions it taking 10, 15, or 20 years to accomplish!  My proposal to all who agree with him is to tour the two Genesis hospitals, then Trinity, Mercy, and yes, even Unity.  Then have a close look at the Vet's hospital in Ia City, which is, ofcourse govt. run.  The later is what's in store for all of us if Obama gets his way.  Believe me,  none of us want any part of that.

Nobama may, indeed, want single payer healthcare - but do we know if that is in this 'bill'? We don't have a clue. The committee that reviewed and voted on 'the bill' have refused to let the media and the American taxpayers know what is contained in it - probably until after the recess. Well isn't that just ducky? If we would have the info when our legislators have a 'town hall meeting' we could ask pointed questions - but now we are supposed to believe that they have our best interests at heart and will read this HUGE stack of paper and tell us all we need to know. You bettcha!

Now the libs are saying that the folks who show up at town hall meetings are mobs sent by Republicans. Let me assure you that if I had an opportunity to attend one I would go in a heartbeat and no one needs to 'send' me.

We need answers!!!!!!!!!

Welll mallory, how much of YOUR weekly paycheck are you willing to give the government to insure others? tell us all the exact percent you can pay for someone elses medical insurance...thats above and beyond what already comes out of your check....

You want to know the exact per cent.   Well I  projected the consumer price increase, did a least squares linear analysis of the Dow-Jones averages, tried to anticipate any pay increases, estimated what social security would pay me in the future, checked my portfolio, tried to predict my future health needs and date of death, and went with the square root of three, 1.732% which is more than some of those with incomes of a million or more are willing to do

By the why did you want to know this?

I see in today's paper one of the execs at Wells-Fargo in Des Moines is getting a $3.27 million raise.   He probably appreciates your support.

Wow Mal, way to change the subject!  You either are a graduate of the Double D school of logic, or are the man himself.

The latter is what I suspect...
