"Never"....so I accept this as you have been in the radio and cemetery professions, but just never fired from them? Ok.....
That is odd...in so much as the full-time broadcasting field is wrought with broadcasting staff being fired at will by employers. I now wonder how many years you had in full-time broadcasting; and there was not one instance of you being terminated at will? Most interesting, since I also know and have experience in the radio broadcasting field! Surprise!
I think I know who you are now, but I'm not going to reveal my guess on-line. It would be irrelevant.
I worked in radio on and off since 1981. I have never been fired from a radio station. I was laid-off from WOC, but that was along with 6 other full-time talented individuals. Spike left for WGN and the revenue dropped. I have never been fired from any job. I've quit a lot. Please don't hold that against me.
Look, I was raised to believe what a police officer tells me. I was raised to respect authority. My interpretation of the law differs from yours. I don't see it as fair to the person who may be behind the person waving me through. It's like letting someone cut in line. Sorry you disagree with my interpretation and with what a Davenport officer told me. Just yesterday, I had three people try to wave me through when they were clearly at the intersection a full ten seconds before I got there. Sure, they're trying to be polite, but the experience I had over 20 years ago is hard to erase. I still will not accept a wave through and just hope that other drivers will discontinue the practice. As I now know, I'm not the only one who dislikes the "wave-through" and that makes me feel much better. Thanks.
Now, to quote Forrest Gump, "That's all I have to say about that."
