I don't have a problem with it if it's for the money. It's better than raising taxes.
They'll raise taxes too though. After all, the 'crats are in power now.

I'm all for it....we have cops sitting around watching for speeders and red light runners...if we use cameras to do thier job...we could cut back on the police force we could easily drop 2 or 3 cops and save a good chunk of change.....cut 1 cop per shift...... |

I lent my car to my brother from out of state who is generally a very safe driver. He got distracted momentarily by some new construction and ran a light. He admitted his error and paid the ticket he got from the officer that observed the infraction. My issue is, when this red light camera is installed the registered owner of the vehicle gets the ticket. Sure, my brother would have paid the ticket that would have been issued to me but the ticket still goes to me even tho I wasn't even in the car at the time. Without identifying the driver issuing a citation to the owner is exceptionally unreasonable. As with all other vehicle violations the citation is issued to the driver, not the owner. Iowa law requires the driver of a motor vehicle to be in compliance with the law, it does not extend to the owner of the vehicle. |
