I don't have a problem with it if it's for the money. It's better than raising taxes.

just some food for thought!
is it is another form of "TAX" !!!! once the elephant gets his trunk inside the door, you have the whole elephant inside. remember when seat belt laws started, we will not stop you just for a seat belt violation. won't be long and it will affect your record. is running red lights a big problem around here. How many accidents have resulted from running red lights, is it like speeding do people do it on purpose, how much cash will it generate, will it make intersections safer or just relieve citizens of their monies, can they catch other crimes say( open container, drug use, illegal lane use, seat belt violation, right on a red, etc, etc, etc), what capabilities do these camera have (gps, rifd, infrared, inter-connected, tracking abilities, night vison, Chicago cameras are connected to stores and to a central computer with crime detection abilities) how much will this cost tax payers, including or excluding fines and fees, are cameras a big deterrent, or are they just big brother watching( the elephant).. just some food for thought!!!! |

Excellent post mobay....you are spot on about the sealt belt law. they said they would never stop drivers for just the belt violation. Once they got the law passed, it was simple to do an amendment to the law. The public sees and gives input on proposed laws. but only those that watch the legislatures close see when amendments are being made to "stiffen" laws.
This soes not apply to city ordinances though; tougher. |
