No bid presidency

Posted in: Muscatine

Well, well, well:

"In this case, $25 million in a special no-bid contract for work in Afghanistan that, according to one source, could have been done by “lots of companies and non-governmental organizations.”

"Despite President Obama's long history of criticizing the Bush administration for "sweetheart deals" with favored contractors, the Obama administration this month awarded a $25 million federal contract for work in Afghanistan to a company owned by a Democratic campaign contributor without entertaining competitive bids."

"The contract, awarded on Jan. 4, 2010 to Checchi & Company Consulting, Inc., a Washington-based firm owned by economist and Democratic donor Vincent V. Checchi, will pay the firm $24,673,427 to provide "rule of law stabilization services" in war-torn Afghanistan."

------------------------------------------------------------

Back to the stated future: "Flanked by aides and lawmakers at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Executive Office Building on March 4, 2009, Obama vowed to "end unnecessary no-bid and cost-plus contracts," adding: "In some cases, contracts are awarded without competition….And that's completely unacceptable."

"Unacceptable" is what this two-faced lying president is! Nigel is right!

Hi BigBotherSmile

I wouldn't go with the name calling, but definitely see a hypocrisy and potentially another scandal to add to his column. At this point he has three and perhaps now another. The research is compiled and I have almost 70 pages of US political scandal. I'd hoped to have posted it by now but had a few bad days the past week and have yet to double check the numbers. I felt I needed to see it through even though the odds seem to be closer than I always heard. As I said before throughout our history::: human nature is about common ground. They are all crooks. This crew is beginning to show it's other side too. It was supposed to be about change and hope wasn't it? Depressing.

Well Mal, the point of BB's post was really Obumbler's hypocrisy.

But, I'll remember your response.  It might come in handy to point out how many banks Willy Sutton robbed compared to how many I robbed, if I ever decide to rob a bank.  Even if I did campaign against bank robbery.

This is the "doofus" kind of reasoning engaged in by the doofus in chief and his doofus supporters.
