Typical lib. statement, showing ignorance of our system and no understanding of our founding principles in this country nor of how things work. People accumulate wealth in spite of government, not because of it (unless they have government contract business). It's not the government that ALLOWS us to do business.
I find the first definition of allows to be "make it possible for something to happen". Do you really think it would be possible for this nation, and particularly business, to function as well as it does without government rules and regulation?
Its the government that prevents us from doing business.
Somalia should be your ideal business haven. For those who like less government, there's your opportunity.
If you are referring to the legitimate responsibilities of the central government (military protection of its citizens, and certain infrastructure obligations) we all agree that we should pay taxes to support those obligations.
I did suggest support the troops.
But the idea that some should pay a higher rate to support those obligations is something not intended by our founding fathers.
But we did amend the constitution for that very purpose. And it's still on the books.
