The answer is that we ask the same of all people in our country....compliance with laws.  When we start to give up on insistence with complicane simply because it's "hard" to catch them all, then we truly begin to lose our way of life.

I was asked for ID four times in the past two days.  Checking into a hotel, at my bank,  and writing  checks at a local business.  Proving who you are is not uncommon.  It's not racist.  It's not evil. 

This is a non-arguement. 

I'll again ask where's the Tea Party? Could you imagine if they were jailing gun owners until they could prove that their guns were all legal?

Who on earth said that 'they' will "just ask brown skin people"? As I stated earlier, there will not be some huge influx of law enforcement personnel in AZ that can just go up to every Juan, Haysus, and Jorge and try to bust them. If any are speeding, running red lights, robbing, killing, selling drugs, have accidents and don't have car insurance, they can be arrested.

As others have stated, there is precious little that one can do in this life without showing at least one form of identification. If you are in this country legally, you MUST carry your green card with you at all times, so how is that so much different?

I think if we in Muscatine were living with the conditions that they are experiencing in AZ and TX with all the drug wars, murders and mayhem that is occurring, we would be camped on the govs door demanding action.
